Prosthetics and Orthotics Online Definitions / Dictionary
The ISPO Lexicon Dictionary now uses a table-based search tool for finding terms and translations. This page describes how to use the the search features.
As shown in this figure, the tools for setting languages and searching are located at the top of the table.
- Change Languages: Set the language with the drop-down list and then click the Go button.
- Search Filter : A Search Filter defines what information is displayed in the table.
- Start by entering the search text in the Search Filter box
- Click on the Search Filter icon ( ) to pop up the search settings
- Select the type of filter to use
- NoFilter: removes all sorting setting for the column
- Contains: displays all lines that contain the search letters. You do not need to provide full words. For example, the search "Contains", "ab" would show "abdomen" but also "diabetes" .
- StartsWith: displays all lines that start with the search letters
- EndsWith: displays all lines that end with the search letters
- EqualsTo: displays all lines that exactly match the search letters
- Note that you can set different filters for each column.
- For example, you could have English words that start with "B" and Definitions that contain "measure". To change the search to only words that start with "C", you must change the "B" to a "C" and then change the filter setting to "No filter" in the Definitions column.
